BMTX is seeking a motivated and results-driven VP, Operations, reporting to Warren (Jerry) Nelson), SVP, Engineering.


The VP of IT Operations keeps a laser focus on the successful delivery of the highest business value features across their team, while ensuring transparency and collaboration throughout the rest of the organization.  The VP of IT Operations owns the operations and support of VIBE disbursements, one of BMTX key client facing applications.  This is done by proper escalation and triage of support tickets, production support, dev ops support, BCP/DR process, vendor support, and implementations. The VP of IT Operations becomes the conductor of the cross-team process, coaching at the product level and ensuring there is clear visibility into all status and progress.


  • Lead, manage and influence all assigned Product Teams (IPT) to ensure adherence to schedule, budget (EAC) and scope of the contract while actively managing risk to minimize or eliminate potential program issues that would affect success and deteriorate customer satisfaction.
  • Lead preparation and management of team plans, proposals, negotiating statements of work and specifications, monitoring performance, exceeding SLA.
  • Chair Technology and Operations meetings with Partners and coordinate with all appropriate functional groups to ensure proper support is allocated based on the Partners agenda.
  • Collaborate closely with the other Technology and Product teams to manage programs, coordinate cross-team deliverables, mitigate risks, and balance business needs.
  • Participate in design concepts, criteria and engineering efforts for product research, development, integration and test.
  • Establish milestones and monitor team member progress throughout the year. Establish team and individual goals reviewed semi-annually.
  • Identify, prepare and implement cost reduction plans on ongoing projects.
  • Approve written reports, oral presentations to partners and direct communication to resolve item issues in accordance with roadmap and master services agreement.
  • Establish and maintain effective communication between functional departments to established schedules and all support departments to facilitate problem identification resolution.
  • Translate complex processes in Product and Technology into concrete deliverables, and shepherd these deliverables from definition to deployment across the organization.
  • Negotiates with partners to guarantee advantageous contracts.
  • Manage project timelines and work with the team to identify/define resource needs.
  • Facilitate decision-making, collaboration, and problem-solving with people at all levels of the organization to accomplish shared program goals.
  • Support client implementations, upgrades and integrations.
  • Deploy, configure, maintain, monitor infrastructure as it relates to Vibe and its dependencies.
  • Monitor support queues, provisioning of accounts, triage tickets.
  • BCP and DR of all Vibe environments
  • Participate, lead, and maintain documentation in support of SOC Type I, Department of ED, and other Audits as required.


  • You have 10 years of leading technology production teams in a technology organization (preferably ecommerce), running a variety of product development, infrastructure, compliance, security or privacy programs.
  • Demonstrated a successful history of managing multiple programs in parallel that were delivered on time, at cost and within scope. Preferred experience in Fintech .
  • You hold a Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Information Systems and Technology, Computer Science, Management, or Business Administration
  • You are someone who possesses assertiveness and diplomacy, and achieves team cohesion, while integrating and aligning corporate initiatives.
  • You have a proven ability to juggle and balance conflicting priorities, to build best in class solutions with an eye for fine details, and to break down high-level problems and articulate solutions to both business and technical audiences
  • Ideally, you have used Jira/Confluence and are experienced with Agile SCRUM development.
  • Unquestionable integrity and ethics.
  • Thorough understanding of banking/financial products and services.
  • Outstanding communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to lead and drive collaboration among team members.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite and familiar with marketing software applications.
  • Ability to manage relationships and influence outcomes.
