Overview

The Payroll and Benefits Specialistwill be responsible for working with the People team and managers in administering and processing biweekly payroll and benefits. It will require working with ADP, our service provider to resolve all issues. This position encompasses a variety of duties such as data entry, running reports, paycheck and W-2 distribution. This fast-paced position will require the People Specialist to communicate effectively with both internal team members and outside providers and keep up to date on all Federal, State, and local payroll and benefit regulations.

Responsibilities

In this role you will:

  • Process bi-weekly multi state payroll for exempt and nonexempt team members; 270 team members’ total.
  • Accurately enter all pay changes, New Hires/Terminations, and Paydata Batches in ADP.
  • Ensure compliance with laws and regulations related to payroll and benefits.
  • Manage time and attendance process, including Time Off for all Team Members.
  • Facilitates audits by providing records and documentation to auditors.
  • Administers employee insurance programs including life, disability, and health insurance plans.
  • Administers employee savings plans that may include the company’s 401(k) plan, personal savings, and the Employee Stock Purchase plan.
  • Continuously maintains and expands knowledge of Payroll, HR, Benefits, and Time & Attendance.
  • Answer questions from team members directly related to benefits and Payroll.
  • Completes records, reporting, and other documentation required by federal, state, and provider rules, regulations, and policies.
  • Identifies and selects carriers and plans based on quotes, available benefits, and prior experience.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, developments, and best practices in compensation and benefits administration.
  • Develops and managers company wellness program.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Ideal Skills

  • Well established experience in payroll processing required, preferably with ADP workforce now database.
  • Extensive knowledge of employee benefits and applicable laws.
  • HRIS system experience required.
  • Knowledge of ADP Workforce Now
  • Experience generating reports from HRIS systems, analyzing data, and creating reporting metrics.
  • Ferocious attention to detail.
  • Team oriented with excellent listening, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to stay focused and work in a deadline intensive environment.
  • Highly organized and process driven.
  • Flexibility with priorities dependent on what requires immediate attention.
  • Perform with the upmost honesty and integrity.

 

Required Experience/ Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field and/or equivalent experience.
  • At least two years of related experience are required.
