Position Accountability

Design and implementation of performance evaluation and stress testing tools and frameworks to ensure that our systems meet SLAs and are working within parameters. Reporting on and instrumentation of our systems for customer-facing performance metrics and KPIs.



  • This is a hands-on performance engineering role that goes beyond just test script development to help identify and orchestrate the scientific method to re-engineer or tune the system to scale
  • Align and/or re-use functional or production monitoring scripts in the performance test suite, and re-use production monitoring tools to measure performance test results where applicable
  • Ensure all tests are sufficiently documented in detail and auditable from test to test
  • Identify, assess, track and mitigate issues and risks at multiple levels
  • Elicit input from system owners and data consumers regarding the tests to best match the needs of the business users and technical teams
  • Manage reporting and performance data extracts for partner facing status and performance history dashboard


Expected Outcomes

  • Production scalability or response time issues can be recreated and solved quickly in the performance test environment
  • Test harnesses are extremely business-oriented and aligned with functional test and production monitoring scripts
  • Monitoring, dashboards, reports, monitoring and alerting on real-time data



  • 2+ years of experience in Load, Stress and Endurance test planning, scripting and execution
  • Experience with MS Azure or other major cloud services platform
  • Experience summarizing Performance Testing results in a clear and concise manner and reporting out to client leadership
  • Extensive experience configuring and executing scripts using Performance Testing Tools such as Rational Performance Tester (RPT), HP LoadRunner, JMeter and similar tools
  • Experience maintaining and frequently updating performance testing scripts based on application enhancements and changes
  • Experience analyzing performance test results and identifying performance trends and bottlenecks using APM tools
  • Must have experience tuning RDBMS VLDB for sub second performance. This encompasses, relational design, indexing, query tuning, system config tuning.
  • Good understanding of Entity Framework,
  • Experience in implementing large-scale custom development and/or systems integration projects in one or more phases of the SDLC
  • Some experience with .Net, C#, Microsoft SQL Server, and Kusto preferred
  • Strong understanding of SDLC methodologies (Agile, SCRUM, RUP, other)
  • Experience working with business users to gather requirements, writing functional and technical specifications and communicating technical requirements
  • B.S. in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or relate field or experience
