  • Overview

    This role is responsible for the management, monitoring and control of the Compliance and Quality Assurance team in addition to the three ERT Teams in the Bankmobile Banking Operations Division. The three ERT teams are identified as the Outbound Resolution Team, Investigative Claim Unit and Claim Process Reconciliation. The compliance team ensures bank operations maintains strict compliance standards as determined by internal policy and external regulators. The VP position is the first line of defense in the Bankmobile Compliance Program and provides regular reporting to the Compliance Department.  This role ensures that the team delivers training, monitoring and procedures as will as implementing relevant projects to address any problem areas. The three ERT teams each have a manager and those groups record, investigate and resolve all customer transactional dispute claims pertaining student checking and savings accounts. These disputes must all be handled in accordance with regulatory requirements of banking regulators as well as the Department of Education.

    Responsibilities

    Requirements of this Role:

    • Manage a program of internal controls to monitor the quality and accuracy of departmental output and to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, internal policy and procedures and Department of Education requirements.
    • Work closely with managers of the Banking Operations teams, Project Management, LP&I, Business Intelligence, Tech, Risk and Compliance  to ensure operations are run effectively, efficiently and in compliance with applicable regulations, policies and procedures and to minimize fraud loss.
    • Assist with audits and other projects as they are initiated.
    • Participate in the support, integration and enhancements needed of all systems that are dependencies for the functions of the department.
    • Conduct regular communication events with managers and staff such as departmental staff meetings and promote one on ones with managers and their employees at all levels.
    • Work with HR to sponsor development and growth of staff members and create any career path opportunities that would stimulate learning and advancement.

    Qualifications

    Required Experience/ Qualifications:

     

    • Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred
    • 5+ years Banking and/or regulatory experience, preferably Internal Audit or Banking Operations experience.
    • Strong banking regulatory background
    • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook and Word
    • Proven leadership skills and experience
    • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to establish collaborative relationships
    • Strong verbal and written skills
    • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
    • Enjoys new challenges in a rapidly growing changing environment
