  • Overview

    The banking operations specialist is responsible for performing a variety to duties related to back office banking operations functions.  Ensure tasks are completed timely, accurately and according to policy and procedures to avoid risk and loss.  Communicate timely critical information to supervisor for resolution.


    • Ensure exceptions are researched properly and processed accurately in a timely manner, including non-post, stop pays, positive pay items.
    • Assist with the processing of wire transfers
    • Assist with the processing of FRB and bank to bank adjustments
    • Cross train in other areas as directed by supervisor.
    • Assist with ACH balancing and returns
    • Meets critical processing deadlines for all assigned tasks
    • Understand banking regulations to minimize or eliminate potential loss
    • Recognize irregular or suspicious activity and take appropriate steps to prevent loss
    • Ensure compliance with audit and regulatory procedures and adhere to compliance guidelines
    • Notify supervisor as necessary for problem resolution process when there are system issues
    • Provide excellent service to both internal and external customers
    • Perform other duties as required


    • Relevant Bachelors degree or minimum 4 years banking operations experience
    • Solid understanding and strong working knowledge of banking regulations
    • Detail oriented and organized
    • Demonstrates analytical problem solving skills
    • Handle multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize assignments
    • Proficient in Excel, Outlook, Word
    • Proven propensity to learn new technologies quickly
    • Ability to provide stellar customer service to resolution
    • Has the ability to acquire new skills efficiently, and thrives in a collaborative team environment
    • Self motivated
    • Enjoys new challenges in a rapidly growing changing environment
    • AAP certified a plus
