    BankMobile is seeking an experienced  Controller to join the growing accounting and finance team.  Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), the Controller will be responsible for oversight of all accounting and reporting activities.  The Controller will be involved in supporting presentations to the Board committee and will work closely with the Executive and Senior Leadership team.

     

    The Controller will lead all day-to-day accounting operations and supervise a staff of Team Members including functional responsibility over Accounting including general accounting functions, external and regulatory reporting, taxes and Sarbanes-Oxley Act compliance.  The person in this leadership role is a critical member of the BankMobile leadership team and will help lead process improvement initiatives across the organization.  

     

    This is a great opportunity for an experienced finance professional that thinks outside of the box and is unafraid to voice their opinions when necessary. The ideal candidate will have experience in a fast-paced, high growth organization. Experience in a publically traded bank regulated by the SEC is a must to be successful in this role. Mergers, acquisitions, and IPO experience a plus.

    Responsibilities

    • Responsible for the oversight, supervision and management of all accounting and reporting operations ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements.
    • Maintain internal control and safeguards for receipt of revenue, costs, and program budgets and actual expenditures.
    • Coordinate audit activity.
    • Consistently analyze financial data and present financial reports in an accurate and timely manner; clearly communicate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements;
    • Produces reporting and trend analysis, SEC 10Q, 10K and bank Statutory filings, along with overseeing investor and securitization reporting.
    • Support the CFO with issues and trends in financial operating models and delivery.
    • Manage and track the performance of invested assets in keeping with policies and investment guidelines.
    • Assist CFO with promotion of a positive and supportive work environment.
    • Interpret and implement accounting policy and review new deal documents, for several business units.
    • Review monthly Management Reports and analysis to help measure business performance against budgets, forecasts, metrics and other key targets
    • Create presentations for shareholders and hold quarterly presentations with financial overview of BankMobile
    • Oversight of cash flow management and forecasting (including A/R and A/P) and preparation of rolling cash forecasts
    • Oversee internal and external financial reporting
    • Compile and manage the annual budget process and develop monthly forecast updates and the business strategic plan;
    • Oversee internal control review and testing for Sarbanes Oxley compliance.
    • Coordinate, develop and present annual plan and periodic forecast and oversee annual asset impairment and residual reviews for BankMobile.
    • Review annual tax provision and review/ filing of tax returns prepared by external accountants
    • Responsible for maintenance of Sarbanes-Oxley compliance requirements

    Qualifications

    This is an extraordinary opportunity for a mature leader with seven to ten years of accounting and finance experience, ideally beginning in accounting and audit, followed by experience gathering, evaluating, presenting and reporting financial information to executive teams and external stakeholders.

     

    • Must have 7+ years of relevant operations management experience in the field of accounting and finance with 5+ years’ supervisory/managerial experience.
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting or related field required
    • CPA required  and MBA strongly preferred
    • Advanced knowledge of coordinating audit activities and managing reporting, budget development and analysis, accounts payable and receivable, budgeting, tax, cash management, general ledger, payroll, and accounting for investments
    • Keen analytic, organization and problem solving skills which allows for strategic data interpretation versus simple reporting
    •  Strong interpersonal and communication skills; experience in effectively communicating key data, including presentations to senior management, board or other outside partners
    • Accounting operations including billing, fee processing, receivables and payables management, treasury and working capital management, audit and compliance experience
    • Experience in the highly regulated banking industry at a SEC regulated entity
    • Must be extremely detail oriented with ability to be productive under tight deadlines
    • Strong cost accounting background
    • Experience in a  publically traded Financial or Banking organization

     

    Preferred Experience/ Qualifications:

     

    • Experience with PeopleSoft and FIS
    • Experience in the financial or banking industry
    • Mergers, acquisitions, and IPO experience a plus
    • Experience in a publically traded organization
