Position Accountability

Own the end to end functionality of BankMobile product systems inclusive of customer adoption and retention, internal idea aggregation and prioritization, product feature design, planning, delivery, success measurement, and validated learning. Develop and test hypotheses for implementing the “right” features to ensure a sustainable digital business. This role is very much the “CEO” of an industry-leading banking product.


  • This is a hands-on role that focuses on execution of the product vision, from ideation through product feature prioritization, to development team project management, to quality assurance and deployment
  • Obsess daily over the customer experience through data-driven analysis, validated learning, and designing comparative experiments. Manage the ongoing interactions with lead users.
  • Lead the development of the product roadmap and delivery of all functional projects across systems
  • Own and aggregate all product, project, and quality assurance documentation, inclusive of customer-centric stories, detailed functional specifications, UI mockups, and presentation standards.
  • Make effective go-no-go decisions by assessing quality vs. time-to-market trade-offs
  • Interact with executive management, business operations, business product management, and multiple technical teams to define and deliver complex features
  • Anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, anticipate and make tradeoffs, and balance the business needs versus technical constraints.
  • Help gain consensus on business and technical decisions and ensure that appropriate resources are employed to deliver high quality results.
  • Identify, assess, track and mitigate issues and risks at multiple levels.
  • Create, maintain and disseminate project information to stakeholders.
  • Drive effective teamwork, communication, collaboration and commitment competing priorities
  • Make the "right bets" on emerging consumer channel technologies that are about to "cross-the-chasm" for mass adoption. Ensure the BankMobile experience can follow consumers anywhere and is optimized for each channel environment.
  • Continuously research and adopt leading channel platform technologies and techniques faster than larger competitors and to the delight of customers.

  • Customers who use the BankMobile apps say "WOW" and give 4 and 5 star ratings
  • Ongoing improvements to prospect conversion, customer adoption, and retention by demonstrating differentiating capability development and providing solutions to unmet needs
  • Execute plans to differentiate across customer segments by providing segment-specific experiences
  • Ensure business-alignment, quality, and efficiency by structuring product documentation to follow a model-driven and capability-oriented approach. Ensure ongoing traceability from strategic goals to capabilities to technical components to validated business results.
  • Ensure the "right" features are implemented via continuous improvement to the product, with ability to execute product features and fit them appropriately to multiple distribution models


  • Must have direct product management experience of 4 and 5 star mobile apps and have a keen understanding of the commonalities and differences between web and mobile products
  • Must have experience designing B2C and B2B SaaS product delivery models
  • Must be highly cross-functional across multiple disciplines including emerging product management practices, HCI and design-thinking, lean startup principles, business systems analysis, BPM, customer experience management, usability engineering, scrum project methods, and quality assurance
  • Some of the following financial technologies: core banking, PFM, card management, payments, digital wallets, RDC, HCE, and crypto-currencies
  • Expert with emerging DevOps methods and tools, such as agile/scrum, continuous integration, automated configuration management, test driven development, data center and cloud automation, and UI monitoring and measurement tools, etc.
  • Must have prior people management skills with ability to work hands-on and/or eventually scale out a product team
  • Strong attention to detail including precise and effective customer communications and proven ability to manage competing priorities simultaneously
  • Superior verbal and written communications skills and history of teamwork
  • B.S. in Computer Science, MIS, or related field (M.S. preferred), MBA preferred
