Overview

BM Technologies, Inc. (“BMTX” or the “Company") is seeking an Information Security Analyst to support the continued growth of the Company.

 

As a critical member of the Information Security Team, the Information Security Analyst will be responsible for the early detection and identification of threats that pose a risk to BMTX products and services.  They will work with internal partners and third parties to monitor and respond to security alerts.  The Security Analyst will be a team player working across the organization to ensure appropriate controls are in place and working as expected. 

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and respond to security alerts from internal and third-party security services providers.
  • Manually review logs and reports for data and usage anomalies.
  • Monitor external data sources to stay current on emerging cyber threats and determine which security issues pose risks to the organization. Work across the organization to ensure appropriate monitoring and mitigation plans are developed and implemented.
  • Security incident response, including supporting the identification and remediation of security incidents, escalating major incidents when appropriate. 
  • Assist with the configuration and optimization of monitoring tools.
  • Manage vulnerability scans, web application security assessments and penetration testing.
  • Review security assessments and Service Organization Control Reports (SOC 1, SOC 2, and SOC 3) of service providers to ensure they comply with BMTX requirements.
  • Develop and manage phishing and other security awareness training programs.
  • Work cross-functionally with our Product and Engineering teams to ensure security vulnerabilities are properly understood, prioritized, and remediated in a timely manner.
  • Monitor and respond to events reported through the security team and abuse mailboxes.
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of security policies and incident response procedures.

Qualifications

  • 3 to 5 years working as an information security professional.
  • Foundational information security industry knowledge / technical awareness e.g., security principles and best practices, common attacks types.
  • Ability to establish plans and protocols to protect digital files and information systems against unauthorized access, modification and/or destruction.
  • Experience with security operations, threat intelligence, and incident response.
  • Experience with vulnerability and application scanning tools and processes.
  • Anticipate security alerts, incidents and disasters and reduce their likelihood.
  • Analyze security breaches to determine their root cause.
  • Recommend and install appropriate tools and countermeasures.
  • Train fellow employees in security awareness and procedures
  • Strong problem-solving, data analysis and data correlation skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Swift decision making and judgement abilities.
  • Knowledge of security standards and guidelines including NIST, CIS, and FFIEC.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, cybersecurity, or equivalent work experience.
  • One or more of the following IT Security Certifications: ISSEP/CISSP, CISM, CRISC, CSX/CSX-P or willing to work toward one.
  • Experience working in Cloud environment with Azure preferred.
  • Availability outside of normal business hours as needed for incident response and investigation.
